Chemical Operations: The Chemical Operations team enables the efficient manufacture of pharmaceutical products, including highly potent compounds, in compliance with applicable cGMP and HSE regulations and business requirements. They are responsible for defining, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems, ensuring adherence to pre-established schedules while managing internal resources (fulfilling our customers' requirements). 

Pharmaceutical Operations: The Pharmaceutical Operations team enables the efficient manufacture of pharmaceutical products using Spray-Drying technology, including highly potent compounds, in compliance with applicable cGMP and HSE regulations and business requirements. They are responsible for defining, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems, ensuring adherence to pre-established schedules while managing internal resources and fulfilling our customers' requirements. 

Drug Products: The Drug Product team promotes best practice and the efficient production of drug products (oral and inhalation), including highly potent compounds, in compliance with applicable cGMP and HSE regulations and in accordance with business requirements. They are responsible for defining, implementing, optimizing and innovating manufacturing processes and systems. They also aim for full adherence to pre-established schedules, managing internal resources (people and equipment) and fulfilling our customers' requirements, in a safe and sustainable environment. 

Marketing & Sales

Project Management: Hovione´s PMO team operates as a center of excellence for project management, integrating people, processes and tools in a way that positively impact team members, improve customer satisfaction, and support sustainable growth. 

Internal Sales: The Internal Sales team is responsible for contract lifecycle management and for providing technical knowledge, advice, and support to Hovione´s Sales Team. They work on lead qualification, customer communications, and the management of Hovione’s CDA system. 

Product Management: The Product Management team works to transform Hovione’s products and technologies into market offerings and support their introduction and commercialization. They work to recognize the unmet needs of our customers and to understand how Hovione´s innovative approach can fulfill them. 

Business Research and Analytics: The Business Research and Analytics team provides actionable insights to Hovione´s Senior Leadership Team and Core Functions on the market trends, competitors, customers, partners and forces that may impact Hovione´s business. By providing in-depth business analytics related to revenues, costs, and profitability, they support informed and data-driven decision-making across the organization. 

Supply Chain & Procurement

Supply Chain: The Supply Chain team is an agile and customer-centric, implementing and sustaining the processes and tools that orchestrate information, resources, and material flows across the business. Their team helps ensure the timely delivery of Hovione´s products and services to internal and external partners. 

Procurement: The Procurement team aims to establish efficient internal processes and work with our external suppliers to ensure a seamless internal customer experience while adhering to quality and sustainability standards. They also drive continuous improvement in material flow processes, establishing performance metrics, and support alignment between business and customer needs throughout the organization. 

Health, Safety and Environmental Management

The HSE team is responsible for implementing action programs and procedures related to Health, Safety, Environmental Management, and Sustainability. They help to protect team members and surrounding communities. This area also assists in enforcing best practices through training and inspections, and it also helps with incident investigations, and risk assessments. Additionally, the team keeps up to date with regulatory and organizational standards to ensure full compliance with these requirements. 

Engineering & Maintenance

The Engineering & Maintenance team ensures that infrastructure and machinery operate efficiently and safely at Hovione. They specialize in designing, implementing, and optimizing systems and equipment, with a keen focus on achieving high standards of quality and safety. By employing advanced diagnostic techniques, they address engineering challenges, streamline manufacturing processes, and enhance equipment functionality. 

Quality

Quality Assurance: The Quality Assurance team guarantees cGMP compliance across all activities and systems related to projects and products execution. They help align working practices with project needs, provide global supplier qualification services, and collaborate with suppliers and Procurement Team to ensure that the quality of their products, materials, components and/or operations are met. 

Quality Control: The Quality Control team verifies the quality of raw materials, intermediate, and final products through quality control techniques, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, company procedures and quality standards, client specifications, and contract requirements. 

Global Quality: The Global Quality team ensures compliance with essential guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) to maintain high quality standards across Hovione. They implement efficient systems aligned with the company's strategic objectives, promote continuous improvement, and facilitate communication across various sites. This area also provides guidance on regulatory requirements for product development and commercialization. 

Digital

The Digital team acquires, designs, implements, and operates Hovione´s digital resources, including hardware, software applications, communications, data processing, and security systems. They also support technological innovation by prototyping and subsequently developing digital and robotics solutions to simplify processes. 

Operational Excellence

Operational Excellence (Global): The Operational Excellence Global team drives continuous improvement and efficiency across Hovione´s operations and business functions by optimizing processes, reducing waste, enhancing quality, and maximizing productivity to achieve strategic objectives and deliver value to customers. They focus on implementing best practices, fostering a culture of innovation, and leveraging technology to streamline workflows and enhance overall performance. 

Operational Excellence (Site): The Operational Excellence Site team promotes end-to-end process improvement practices and methodologies to enhance operational and support service efficiencies. They are responsible for developing, deploying and maintaining workflows and promoting behaviors that maximize workforce efficiency and engagement. 

External Communications

The External Communications team is responsible for defining and executing Hovione’s external communication strategy, helping strengthen the company’s reputation and market positioning. Across corporate and business communications, they manage media relations, sponsorships, and brand strategy, while supporting the communication of topics related to innovation, sustainability, partnerships, and employer branding. They also help promote new services, technologies, and solutions through strategic messaging, campaigns, and communication materials and events. 

Research & Development

The Research & Development team performs qualitative and quantitative analyses of compounds, including drug substances, drug product intermediates, and drug product. They recommend the analytical characterization package (chemical, physical, performance) and control the quality and accuracy of the data in compliance with legislation and regulatory standards of Quality, HSE and cGMP policies. They promote scientific excellence and innovation in the Analytical area and contribute with technical expertise to expand the Intellectual Property, product and technology portfolios.

Learning & Development

The Learning & Development team designs, implements, and evaluates employee learning programs that support both technical and non-technical development across the organization. They monitor training needs and results, develop learning journeys for different talent groups, and support coaching and mentoring initiatives.
